Here we are on the eve of the Nexus 4 and 10 and I must admit, I’m feelin’ a lot like a kid on Christmas Eve. What is sure to be a frenzy of Android and tech enthusiasts across the country making a mad dash to the Google Play Store, I hope you’re all ready. Google announced that both devices would be hitting the Play Store on Tuesday, November 13th, and while we don’t have an exact time Google will open the floodgates, we have plenty of good reasons to believe it will launch at midnight tonight (pacific time).
First, Google is based in San Francisco here on the the west coast, and if they’re going by Apple’s typical release schedule (which hasn’t seemed to garner too many complaints) it only seems logical that the the N4 and N10 will arrive as soon as the clock strikes midnight. Because the the Nexuses will be launching globally, it seems the other parts of the world will have to wait until the later part of Tuesday — which is still November 13th for them. They’ll just need to wait for the rest of the world to catch up. You also might want to take into account a German Googler who said to expect the device sometime during the “breakfast” hours (for Germany) which — depending on when you crack open your Kellogg’s Frosties — could very well mean 12AM PT, 3AM ET.
Of course, without an official word from the mother ship, the exact time is anyone’s guess. We expect the Nexus 4 to sell out within minutes of going live in the Play Store (the Nexus 10… not so much), so if you really had your heart set on being one of the first to get your hands on one, depending on where you live, you might have a long night ahead of you. I have my browser auto-refreshing the page for the 16GB version and as soon as it goes live, you guys will be the first to know.
All that being said, when do you guys think the Nexus 4 and 10 will go live in the Play Store? Anyone staying up late to make sure they’re not left out in the cold?
