Rumor: HTC working on a 7-inch Flyer 2

The original HTC Flyer was introduced to the world with some incredibly bad timing. It wasn’t a bad device, but with some Honeycomb-infused beasts on the horizon its Gingerbread base put a lot of people off from buying it.

It seems they could be ready to introduce a true sequel to the device as Phone Arena is reporting that they’re readying a new 7 inch tablet. It will supposedly sport an HD display and will be powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a Qualcomm S4 processor. It’ll also have a 3 megapixel on the back, a 1 megapixel on the front, and it’s poised to be as thin as a screw.

HTC faces stiff competition from both Amazon and Google, both of which have attacked the tablet space with 7 inch variants of their own starting at $200. HTC will need to price this thing aggressively if they want any chance.

Otherwise, their knack for advertising is going t have to come in mighty handy to convince anyone that they should go with them instead of these other two major players. Would you give HTC another shot for $200.
