By Rovio has announced a new game for Android, and they’re calling it Bad Piggies. Like rumors have suggested, and like the name implies, this game will let you play as the poor pigs that the Angry Birds have terrorized for so long.
“There’s a lot of empathy towards the lovable enemies from the Angry Birds games, and we’ve been constantly asked: what about the pigs’ side of the story?” said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio. “Bad Piggies gives you the chance to play as the second-most-loved characters in the Angry Birds universe, and explore this rich world through their green eyes.”
Rovio didn’t say what, exactly, you’d be doing with the pigs, but they say there’s no slingshot to be found in this game. I guess we’ll have to wait for some gameplay footage or more news from Rovio to see what the mechanics are, but this looks to be yet another fresh take on their priceless IP. The game is launching September 27th in the Google Play Store. [Rovio]
I predict that it will only do moderately well. We become adapted to thrills quickly and Angry Birds has lost its thrill.
That means it will only get 900 million downloads instead of a billion.

My quest continues (admittedly, I’m a little late to the party): I do not advance to the next puzzle until I 3-star the current one… still in AB at the moment — haven’t looked at Seasons, Rio or Space yet. Pigs is a long way off for me.

I am no longer playing Angery birds but still love Angry birds space, but this sounds very interesting, September is an exciting month, Nokia tomorrow, Motorola on Thursday, Iphone next month & now more games, Tech heaven.
I hate Rovio their games are meh but their CEO has a mouth bigger than Mark Cuban. I get that they have a lot of downloads but that doesn’t mean anything more than people are stupid and will continue to pay for garbage.
Trust me, you can find much worse than Angry Birds.

Sure, if you want a real game you can play Uncharted on a PS3 but how many good phone games for when you only have 5 minutes of free time?
Tetris, Katamari, Words with Friends, Hanging with Friends, Sound Shapes, Fruit Ninja. I can keep going but I think my point was made.
Fruit Ninja is better than Angry Birds? Even a 3 year old can play that game by slapping his finger around.
Fruit ninja isn’t as popularized as angry birds. Let’s not split hairs.
You do realize they have all been free right? At least in android. I think space has a paid no ads version but that’s about it.
