Nikon Coolpix S800c Unveiled – 16MP Point and Shoot With Last Year’s Gingerbread for $350

After pics of the Nikon S800c surfaced yesterday, we were more than intrigued at the prospect of having an Android equipped point-and-shoot in our pockets. Today, the camera has finally been made official, with Nikon officially taken the wraps off the world’s first Android powered camera. The Nikon Coolpix S800c is your typical small camera. It features a 16MP BSI CMOS sensor with 10x wide optical zoom, built in GPS and WiFi, and can capture full 1080p HD video.

The standout feature of the camera is that it comes with a 3.5-inch 800×480 OLED touchscreen display along with Android 2.3 Gingerbread baked in, and 4GB of internal storage. With full access to the Google Play Store, that’s pretty impressive for those that might want to step up their Instagram game. The Nikon Coolpix S800c will come in black and white varieties and retail for $350 when it debuts next month.
