Earlier rumors indicated AT&T would be dropping the price of their HTC One X to $99 in the next day or two, and now it seems we may have a bit of confirmation. Radio Shack will be offering the device for $99 beginning July 29th.
This gives AT&T’s rumors some very nice legs after being skeptical of the source. But rest assured knowing you’ll be able to get one of these at a very attractive price point (that’s if you have an upgrade or are a new customer, of course). Anyone going to pick one up?
boy thats one sexy looking device! its got the gs3 beat at least on that department!
I bet ATT is replacing the One X with a One X Variant.
I like the black one x! Sick looking device HTC hardware rocks
Everyone is going to 99.99 I am a retailer and it starts this Sunday. /thread
Lower the price on the gs3 or give me some kinda sale. I know the second I plunk down $150 for it at amazon they will have a penny sale
I wouldn’t expect the GS 3 to go down unless the One X starts picking up again…..and I mean really picking up!!!
I almost sold my One X to get an SGS3, but the devs have been doing great work fixing multitasking and with the kernal source finally released, things are about to get awesome!
Where do i find a fix to the multitasking at?
You have to have your bootloader unlocked or you can wait for the next OTA.
Also this is for the AT&T/Rogers versions only.
If you have your bootloader unlocked you can flash CleanROM 4.2 which has a mods pack that has a multitasking fix. Also, CleanROM clears up a lot of the AT&T and HTC bloatware running so there is less in your RAM. It is not perfect but it makes a huge difference. I can actually go to my Gmail and back into my browser without a refresh.
Of you can flash CleanROM 4.5 Beta which is based on the 2.23 firmware (the next firmware AT&T will OTA). This does not have the mods pack, but HTC has actually made changes to the kernel. Also, CleanROM cleans up the bloatware running. Again, it isn’t perfect, but it is so much better.
Or you can wait for the next OTA which should have the HTC fix.
If you buy the service plan, READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The EVO LTE is 79.99 from Amazon Wireless
Already 99.99 at att store. Got one yesterday
I got this phone for its screen, batter-life, ICS, and compatibility with AT&T’s 4G LTE (Dallas area). I don’t regret my purchase. I use this device for all of graphic design projects, and it has become a real asset.
