Latest CyanogenMod 9 release candidate brings support for Samsung Galaxy S3 and more

The CyanogenMod team might be busy looking ahead to a Jelly Bean-based release, but let’s not forget that the Ice Cream Sandwich version of the popular custom Android software was only recently made available as a release candidate. Now that release candidate of CyanogenMod 9 is in its second iteration, and along with bug fixes and updated translations brings support for several new Samsung devices, including the international version of the Galaxy S3 (i9300).

Other devices now supported include the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Samsung Galaxy S II on AT&T (Skyrocket) and T-Mobile, and the Samsung galaxy Note on AT&T. While the team is calling the latest release “a product that you’d let your mom use” (i.e. pretty stable), it is not the final release of CM9. It does however bring us one step closer to that final release, which in turn brings us yet another step closer to the Android 4.1 CM10.
