Robert Bowling, the former creative strategist for Infinity Ward (the development studio responsible for the Call of Duty series), has announced his company’s backing of OUYA.
Alongside a generous $10,000 investment into the project — an amount that seems like chump change compared to the $5 million that’s already been raised on Kickstarter — Robotoki will be creating an exclusive game for the Android gaming console.
The game will be released in an episodic format, much like the Sonic 4 games, and will be a prequel to the company’s planned AAA title Human Element that’s due in 2015. T
his is a great move by Robotoki to not only kick-start major development for OUYA, but to use this as an opportunity to start generating steam for their upcoming survival title.
This console just got a whole lot more attractive and it’ll be interesting to see how many more major players are in line to support one of the most anticipated projects on Kickstarter.
We look forward to seeing how this Human Element prequel will turn out. Watch an interview with Robert Bowling regarding the main Human Element game above for an idea of what to expect.
This makes it seems much less like vaporware. I am intrigued.
