Atari has just released their second title to hit the Google Play Store with arcade classic “Centipede: Origins.” Okay, while the game follows the “classic” Centipede gameplay we all know and love, the game has (thankfully) gotten a complete facelift. More of a reboot, you can now expect high-res, HD visuals, along with vibrant colors and sounds. The story has been tweaked a bit as well. Centipede Originas features a normally, peace loving lawn gnome, who is forced to take action when centipedes and other hostile creatures begin invading his garden. Never mess with a lawn gnome’s garden. Never.
Bringing Centipede into the 21st century, you can gain new weapons and power-ups to aid you on your quest to rid your backyard of the onslaught vermin. Here’s some of the features with more promised to be added in the future:
- 3 upgradeable weapons that will lay waste to the onslaught of bugs and centipedes! Use the grenades, rapid fire and others to eliminate the insects! More to be included soon!
- 3 upgradable gadgets such as the Fly Trap, the Time Warp and others to give you the upper hand in your battle with the bugs and centipedes! More to come soon!
- Collect coins to buy upgrades and help you protect the world of the gnomes!
- 4 playable levels including Bumpkinpatch Gardens, Bumpkinpatch Aerial, Tarpit Excavation, Valley of Flowers and others that can be purchased as you progress through the game!
