HTC devices officially pass customs
Good news is inbound for you HTC fans. The devices that were held up at US Customs, including the HTC EVO 4G LTE and the HTC One X, have cleared the regulatory body. The devices were being stopped for inspection to look for a US patent owned by Apple. The patent covered a method clicking hyperlinks in a web browser.
While we’re sure HTC would have preferred to avoid this hurdle, we were reassured that the devices were already being updated with new firmware that would free them of the infringement US Customs was looking for.
Most customers haven’t been affected by this, with the only major setback being a five day delay for those who were waiting on the HTC EVO 4G LTE. In other words, it’s back to business as usual for HTC and those looking to buy their latest products here in the United States.
