Verizon’s 4G rollout is headed for the beach and the carrier is hoping you’ll catch a gnarly LTE wave. Popular summer vacation destinations up and down the East Coast are being treated to Verizon’s high speed data network just in time for the Memorial Day holiday, the weekend that kicks off a few month’s worth of fun and sun. The beach’s of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Massachusetts are the latest to benefit from Big Red’ aggressive LTE push. So pack your swim trunks and a towel, but don’t forget your smartphone (or your sunscreen). Just be careful around all that sound. It has a tendency to work itself into places you couldn’t even imagine (I’m talking about getting sand in your phone, people). Here is the full list:
- Rehoboth Beach, Bethany Beach, Lewes and Seaford, Delaware
- Ocean City and Fenwick Island; Queen Anne’s, Kent and Talbot Counties; Chestertown, Queenstown, and Easton, Maryland
- Virginia Beach, Virginia
- The Outer Banks, North Carolina
- Cape Cod, Massachusetts
How about we catch some waves…….of bandwidth?

Still no LTE up and down the east coast of Florida. ATT and TMO have limited HSPA+ coverage there. In some cases going up to 18 MB/s. Verizon stores are all over town, but still no LTE here in Brevard county.
Sounds good to me! I was “stuck” on 3G las time I went out to the beach, but no more! Outer banks, here I come!
Strange, 4G has been in the Atlantic City/south Jersey area now for about a month and a half-2 months and they haven’t announced it at all yet.
