LG’s new Prada phones, the L-series, releasing end-April

5

I have never been a fan of “designer” phones, simply because I can’t remember one that isn’t outdated. But there really has to be a market for such devices considering someone seems to be rolling out another every now and then.

The latest devices in the category are the Prada-styled LG Optimus L series (the L3, L5 and L7). The L7 is the premier phone of the three, yet comes with only a single-core 1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, and 4GB on-board memory. On the good side, you’ve got a 4.3” IPS display and Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. There’s also a 5 MP camera and a microSD slot, and if you’re in France or other parts of Europe you can get the device unlocked for 319 Euros ($420) towards the end of this month. The L5 should be out in May, too, while there’s no word on the L3.

  1. L7 has dual-core processor…

  2. Oh god another lg product, why doesn’t  lg take a time out and get there shit together before thinking about releasing crappy phones or phones that look a lot like a gs2, seriously am i the only one that thinks that L7 in the pic looks like a galaxy, its shaped like a gs2 it has the same physical home button that you would see on galaxy device, oh and it has the exact same screen size as a galaxy s2/ the same resolution. and it gets even weirder here are the dimensions for the GS2 :
    (125.3 x 66.1 x 8.49 mm), and the dimensions of the L7 :  125.5 x 67 x 8.8 mm  really now >.>

  3. Alright its looks EXACTLY like my white Galaxy S2. I smell a lawsuit

  4. No worries. It’s an LG phone. I don’t think anyone even cares

  5. I myself don’t care all that much about design or look, as long as it feels comfortable in my hand and has the specs I want, I’m happy.
But it would seem to me that “designer” phones should be two things
First good looking, this phone is not, it’s extremely square, and I expect a Prada phone is aimed at women, worst design choice for a phone targeted at women.
Second high end and pricey, using very out of date specs with nothing to set it apart is a ridiculous, At least when Samsung made a prada phone it’s was similarly spec’ed to it’s high end at the time galaxy S phones
