If you own the Samsung Galaxy S23 or any device that’s older but also eligible for the One UI 7 update, here’s some bad news. According to a post on X by @FamilyTaes, it seems that the One UI 7 beta could actually turn out to be an exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series of phones.
This means that older devices, like the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, and Galaxy S21 lineup will not be able to participate in it. It’s kind of bad news for those who are hoping to take the update for a spin before its official rollout. According to the post, the reason is because Samsung is hoping to launch the Galaxy S25 series with One UI 7 preinstalled.
However, even though this might be bad news for some, we do have some good news. It turns out that based on the leaked roadmap, the One UI 7 update is expected to be released before March. This means that users will only have to wait a few more months before they can check it out.
It is unclear if the beta is exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series or the 2024 lineup of flagships. This includes the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. We have no word on that yet so until then, take this with a grain of salt. The Galaxy S25 series is rumored to debut in the later part of January, so we should have more details then.
