AT&T’s LG Thrill 4G Gingerbread update now available

7

Though the international Optimus 3D from which it is based was treated to an Android 2.3 update months ago, AT&T’s LG Thrill 4G is just now getting its upgrade to Gingerbread. To grab the update users will need the LG Mobile Support Tool for PCs. After sideloading the new software the Thrill 4G will be privy to all the bells and whistles that make up Gingerbread as well as some improvements to the Thrill 4G’s 3D features, including 2D to 3D game conversion. Plenty of other enhancements, tweaks, and fixes are packed within.

The Optimus 3D is now on track for an Ice Cream Sandwich update, but it’s unclear what LG and AT&T’s plans for the Thrill 4G are. It would be surprising, but not unheard of, if the Thrill doesn’t receive a touch of Android 4.0.

  1. Downloaded it yesterday. At&t is so full of shit. This is the exact phone as the Optimistic 3D but yet we have to wait on updates. It came with a load of bloatware by the way.

  2. Ha Ha – Nelson. Should of gotten an HTC

  3. Been on the Canadian Gingerbread modem with Euro Rom for about 3-4 weeks now. Now I’ve got to look at another source code to see if AT&T Messed anything up again. Ugh.

  4. That’s so bad!! I would buy a fruit phone before I buy an LG

  5. Wait…what about Mac users? I’m only finding drivers for PC users.
