AT&T Motorola ATRIX 4.5.141 Update Now Rolling Out

11

AT&T and Motorola have issued an upgrade to the original Motorola ATRIX, one of the first Tegra 2 devices. It’s not Ice Cream Sandwich, of course, but we do get the normal round of security, stability and enhancement improvements for a number of different things. Take a look at the full slate of changes below:

Everyone should be seeing this update on their phones right away. To check for it, go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. A notification will pop up asking you to download it. Do that, and then install when prompted. You might want to have more than 30% of battery life and be connected to a WiFi network throughout all of this. [Thanks Joe!, Motorola]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. I’m confused, it’s update 4.5.141 but it’s not ICS? Isn’t ICS 4.x?

    1. It’s not Android version 4.0, it’s just an update. Similar to how Samsung labels their updates as KGM, KG1, etc…

  2. Just a coincidence w/the update numbering scheme,James.
Check out the link in the article for a full explanation of the update.

  3. I try to do it manually, since i have not recieved any message, and it would just take forever searching and nothing happens. Can anyone help  me?

  4. my work email went crazy after this update…resulted in me doing a hard reset

  5. Glad I’m rooted. M’blur sucks. I’ll be getting cm9 this weekend for my atrix. Feel bad for all ya’ll that havent rooted yet.

  6. The update went well on mine, no problems. Unfortunately, the big fix that we business users really needed, to have contacts use photos from the Exchange Server, was once again ignored. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket I just bought my wife does that and everything else just great. And as soon as my contract term on the Atrix 4G is up, I’m dumping it and moving to another manufacturers product.

  7. I want mine to stop locking up daily requiring a hard reboot!

  8. Thanks for the upgrade.  Now my corporate sync no longer works and battery life got noticeably worse.  How do I go back to the old build?

  9. Phone has self booted more than a dozen times since I allowed the update to be downloaded and installed this morning this morning. Matched BT devices no longer connect. Worst update I’ve ever seen.

  10. My battery life is nonexistent now and corporate sync does not work either, second call into ATT in two days and now he is patching in a Mortarola rep.
