Mint launches native app for Android tablets

Mint is a simple concept: consolidate all of your bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial data in a single, secure location. It is also a powerful tool that allows you to use that consolidated financial info combined with income and expenses to create a budget and keep better track of how you use your money. With the adjustment of a few sliders you can see the long-term effects of that new raise or spending the extra $10 to get the sports package added to your cable bill, and now you can do it all from an Android tablet.

Mint has introduced a native app specifically tailored to 9 and 10-inch slates running Android Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwich. The new app doesn’t add any expanded functionality, but it does bring tablet users an experience that caters to the larger screen size, providing for perhaps one of the best app experiences offered by Mint (they also offer their app for Android smartphones and iOS devices).  With some refined visuals and tweaked layout the allows for quick access to financials and budgeting that is as easy as a swipe of the finger.

Mint sees Android tablets as an untapped frontier that will only grow in the future, pointing out a good portion of their users only interact with the service via mobile devices. For cash-conscious micro-managers Mint is heaven-sent and having the ability to add info on purchases as they happen on a smartphone or tablet recognizes its full power. Android tablet users that fall into that category will want to head over to the Android Market and grab this one now.
