LG Spectrum for Verizon Wireless Coming January 19th for $199

The LG Spectrum, previously rumored as the LG Revolution 2, has been officially announced for Verizon Wireless at CES 2012. It will be yet another device on Verizon’s 4G LTE network, adding processor speed to it’s already fast network speed by featuring a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

While it only launches with Android 2.3, an upgrade to Android 4.0 ICS has already been promised. You know how those things work – they are finicky and the timing is unpredictable – but the LG Spectrum looks like a nice offering all around, available for $199 on January 19th.

And a large offering. The LG Spectrum features a 4.5-inch true HD IPS display with 329 pixels per inch and 16:9 aspect ratio. Pile on the multimedia features with an 8MP camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 1080p HD Video Recording, and – get this sports lovers – the first phone to have ESPN 720p HD video with an ESPN ScoreCenter App. Add that to Verizon’s already awesome and exclusive NFL Mobile service and sports nuts may want to take a serious look at the Spectrum.

LG’s Press Release came in beautiful graphical form, complete with a promo sheet and specs (below). Unfortunately, LG didn’t offer hand-on with the device afterwards, but we’re guessing they’re holding back, hoping for more media attention on Day 1 of the Show Floor by playing hard to get.

I’m sure there are plenty of Verizon customers out there wondering what phone they should get. The Galaxy Nexus, Rezound, and RAZR are already hot Android options-o n first glance, where does the LG Spectrum fit on your Big Red Want List?
