The ASUS Transformer Prime has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately, but there is a bit a of good news today for all the Android wizards out there. The Prime has been successfully rooted by jcase and the AndIRC team. The root method isn’t currently available to the general public, but those wishing to fiddle with the software installed on the tablet out of the box aren’t missing out on much. A locked-down bootloader limits much of what can be done once Superuser access is granted. The upcoming NachoRoot tool will take care of the dirty work, but the team behind may be holding off release until after the Prime receives its January 12th Ice Cream Sandwich update.
