Tank Riders by Polarbit Blasts Onto The Android Market – Multiplayer Tank Battling Fun

3

If you couldn’t tell by now. I have an addiction to app games. Take my long time love for video games and combine that with easy to purchase digital content like apps and I can watch the size of my wallet dwindle in realtime. Thankfully when it comes to (most) Android games, my wallet doesn’t have to suffer too much. Like the newest title from Polarbit called Tank Riders.

As it so often goes in the Android Market, Tank Riders is very reminiscent of another tank battle game — Tank Hero — that launched on Android ages ago. The problem I had with that title is it involved tiny toy tanks with boring visuals and landscapes. Thankfully, Tank Riders improves upon this area with its detailed, cartoony/comical, colorful graphics that allow players to do battle in a variety of landscapes ranging from jungles to more industrial areas.

Gameplay is simply and fun. Stay alive by dodging enemy fire and blast everything in your path using a full arsenal of cannons, missiles and mortars. Strategy creeps into the game by how well you can bounce shells off of walls and into enemy tanks before they have a chance to get you in their sights. There are both single player and multiplayer modes for battling against the computer or real life opponents. If you want to see the game in action, check out the promo video below.

You can find Tiny Riders for $2 right now in the Android Market.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. Chris, I’ve bought most of the games you’ve announced on here. All I can say is that you got me addicted to Android gaming now! Thank you!

    1. Haha! Good to know I’m an enabler…

I try to only post the good ones (or whatever I happen to download) =p

  2. Gonna have to check this out.

I love Polarbit! One of the few developers that I’ve taken the time to write a letter to to tell them how awesome they are. They’ve been putting out quality multiplayer games for Android since the days when the big studios were just putting out shitty J2ME games.
