16

Ritche’s Room TV have gotten their hands on an ASUS Transformer Prime unit and took it for a spin. They go into great detail regarding this first early look at the device. It’s so lengthy that you could almost mistake it to be a review. It’s definitely worth a read and watch so head to their site and be sure to hit play on the video above. [Thanks Mark!]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Does Asus use vanilla Android or do they have their own UI?

    1. Asus  doesn’t really skin their device.  They add some of their own apps (which I find very useful!) and widgets and change the icons (which I prefer)

    2. I can’t speak with 100% certainty, but from what I have seen I think they have some small changes – almost stock – nothing over bearing.

  2. That should seriously be pornography.
Damn that tablet is friggin hot!

    1. Its design surely does it thing to consumer’s eyes.

  3. I <3 his voice. No homo or anything

    1. lol

  4. The Macbook Air is jealous.

  5. Does either the actual prime or it’s keyboard dock have a USB connector? I presume it is Wi-Fi capable but can it be Bluetooth or USB tethered for improved download capability? What class of SD card is supposed to be used?

    1. the keyboard dock has a full-sized USB 2.0 port.

  6. This thing will clearly be the best consumer tablet on market when it launches, but for someone on a budget (AKA me) is it worth twice the price tag of its predecessor? The original Transfomer was already down to $250 on Black Friday at Best Buy, and I’m sure we’re not far away from seeing it available for $200.

    1. The device sports amazing specs which explains its expensive price, however, reports suggest that the tablet will lower its price at a faster rate next year. I think it has something to do with ASUS releasing a new and faster device.

  7. When the Prime is NOT docked and you click on a text box, does the on-screen keyboard come up?  (I assume it does)

Once docked and you click on a text box, does the on-screen keyboard still show up?

    1. no

  8. 2 questions:

If I buy the tablet in the US and the Keyboard-dock in germany, will there be any difficulties likely (software doesn´t recognize the other dock?)?

number two: imagine you have the keyboard dock – if you connect the archos 3g stick to the usb port – any chance that the prime will be able to handle that?

  9. “Industrial family feel”. … Nonsensical dribble!, regardless, … oh man, looks so good!
