Bell Launches Canada’s First HD Smartphone, the LG Optimus LTE

Those in Canada have been sitting by quietly as a series of smartphones featuring 720p displays has launched elsewhere. The HTC Rezound has hit the US and the Galaxy Nexus is now out in the UK. The Nexus will hit North America in December, but Canadians are getting their first taste of Android in high-def thanks to the LG Optimus LTE, available today on Bell.

The Android 2.3 handset features a 4.5-inch display at 720×1280 pixels, 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, and an 8MP camera capable of 1080p video recording. On a three-year contract the Optimus LTE is priced as low as $149.95. The handset is making waves in Korea and is headed to the US as the LG Nitro HD.
