When it rains, it pours, and as soon as the final members of HTC’s 2011 portfolio were out the door the attention was pointed directly towards next year’s offerings. New rumors and speculation on the recently uncovered HTC Edge have been rolling in daily, and the latest reveals when we could see the first quad-core handset from the Taiwanese manufacturer. According to a report out of DigiTimes, the Edge probably won’t launch any sooner than next spring — May or April seems likely. Their report confirms the devices Tegra 3 chipset and 4.7-inch display.
The HTC Edge is expected to launch with Android 4.0, an 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, and a 720p front-facing camera. It is said to all be packed in a frame measuring 8.8mm at the thinnest, but it won’t be the only handset from a top-teir manufacturer to feature such high-caliber hardware. The DigiTimes report also indicates Samsung, LG, and Motorola are all cooking up their own Tegra 3 devices. We’d expect as much, but little more is known about those designs at this time.
