Samsung Galaxy Nexus/Android 4.0 Face Unlock [Face-On Video]
If you were watching tonight’s Ice Cream Sandwich announcement, one of the “must-have” features people were talking about was Android’s new Face Unlock. Using Android’s facial recognition software, a user can opt to use their face to unlock their device instead of hassling with the traditional pin codes or pattern unlocks. The idea is simple but the execution — not so much.
During the live event Google’s Matias was having trouble getting his device to recognize his face and even our own Rob Jackson, who was live at the event, had similar difficulties. What do you guys think? Could this be Android’s “Siri?” More importantly, is this a feature you could see yourselves actually using on a day-to-day basis?
