Verizon’s $20 300MB Data Plan Starts Today, As Does New 4G Coverage

While I know 300MB of data is not nearly enough for some of you, Verizon’s giving owners the option to add a $20 plan that affords savings to those who use smartphones and feature phones but don’t necessarily use tons of data. It’s a promotional plan, though, so you’ll only have from today through September 30th to get in on it.

In related news, 15 new markets wake up to 4G LTE this morning while 10 more cities have gotten expansion love. If you have a phone capable of 4G I’d say away from the plan above – you’ll likely eat through that in a few days. Check below for the new 4G cities and be sure to contact Verizon or take a look at your account online if you’re interested in that data plan.

Tucson, Ariz.; Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers, Ark.; Bakersfield and Salinas/Monterey/Seaside, Calif.; Fort Collins, Colo.; Frederick, Md.; Worcester, Mass.; Omaha, Neb./Council Bluffs, Iowa; Albany, Ithaca and Syracuse, N.Y.; Altoona and Johnstown, Pa.; Memphis, Tenn.; and Provo, Utah. The company is also expanding its 4G LTE network on Thursday in Washington, D.C.; Tampa, Fla.; Atlanta, Ga.; Baltimore, Md.; Boston, Mass.; Lansing, Mich.; New York, N.Y.; Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio; and Salt Lake City-Ogden, Utah.

Update: Getting word that Blacksburg, VA and the Virginia Tech campus are getting 4G today, as well. A little nugget left out of the official press release, but welcomed all the same.
