It was only a few hours ago we reported Apple’s “win” over Samsung in German courts, effectively blocking the Galaxy Tab 10.1 from being sold within the European Union — for now. Interestingly enough, Samsung remains optimistic and in an attempt to reassure buyers, quickly responded to the decision. Kim Titus, Samsung’s director of public relations had this to say,
“This decision by the court in Germany in no way influences other legal proceedings filed with the courts in Europe and elsewhere. The request for injunction was filed with no notice to Samsung, and the order was issued without any hearing or presentation of evidence from Samsung. We will take all necessary measures to ensure Samsung’s innovative mobile communications devices are available to customers in Europe and around the world.”
Seems as though Samsung feels this ruling will not have an affect in their legal battles vs. Apple in other markets but we can’t be so sure. Although we’re definitely in Samsung’s court, this seems like a bad omen of things to come for the Korean company.
