After a false start earlier in the week, the Gingerbread update for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is now rolling out. The announcement comes via a post on the official Sony Ericsson blog, which states that the update is being made available to non-carrier handsets first with 10 percent of devices already receiving their update notifications. The rest should be seeing the update within the next week. Not all is good news, however, as it was also made clear that some operator customized versions of the X10 won’t be receiving the Gingerbread update.

Question is will Rogers update their “‘flagship”phone?
I heard no… I just did a custom job over at XDA
U.S. version or European version? N its too late for me Sony just glad i got rid of my X10 last Dec n went with the Atrix.
I got rid of mine months ago…Sony is the king of making things look pretty but not really doing anything all that well
Somewhere the update boasted about speed improvements with the kernel and etc.
I just updated, its faster in quadrant scores – faster than what an SE X10i should be based on the bar graph. Its a very nicely polish ROM! its buttery smooth, but not snappy like I prefer. Hoping for a custom ROM, whats with locked bootloader SE? hello?
