At Samsung’s South Korean launch event for the Galaxy Tab 10.1, top dog JK Shin confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S II is on track for an August launch in the United States. He provided no further details, leaving us to ponder the exact date of the dual-core superphone’s launch. If it is anything like the release of the first Galaxy S in the US, dates could be staggered across carriers.
We caught our first glimpse of what will purportedly be Sprint’s version of the device earlier in the week, but so far have no clear details on how the Galaxy S II will vary from carrier to carrier. If an August launch is right around the corner, we expect we should be learning a bit more about Samsung’s release strategy soon.
