When the lawsuits against Google and its manufacturing partners just seem to keep piling up with no end in sight, leave it to Google’s Erich Schmidt to boil the whole mess down to a few quotable choice words. Patent, intellectual property, and copyright infringement aside claims aside, Schmidt sees all the legal nonsense as little more than a defensive maneuver on the part of companies that can’t keep up with Google’s pace:
“…Our competitors are responding. Because they are not responding with innovation, they’re responding with lawsuits. We have not done anything wrong and these lawsuits are just inspired by our success.”
In case it isn’t clear, Schmidt is levying those words straight at the likes of Apple, Oracle, Microsoft, and others who have recently attempted to turn a cheap profit in the courts off of Android. Those are some bold words, but bold words backed by the very success Schmidt speaks of. We have to agree with his take on the whole thing, the corporate bickering and lawsuit happy lawyers are getting a bit out of hand.
