Xperia Play and LG Revolution Now Available, DROID X2 Available at Verizon Wireless Stores

Another big day for Verizon has arrived. Firstly, the Motorola DROID X2 has finally made its way into stores. It’s been available online since the 19th, but if you’re the type who needs to play with a device before you take a plunge on buying it, you can head into a corporate store today to get your dirty little paws all over it.
A quick refresher on specs: it has a 4.3 inch qHD display, 8GB of internal storage and an 8GB microSD card, an 8 megapixel camera, NVIDIA’s dual-core Tegra 2 processor inside and comes with Android 2.2 with the latest version of MOTOBLUR on top of that.
This one is not a 4G phone, of course – such has been the case with every DROID phone released since the network launched except for Samsung’s DROID Charge. It can be had from Verizon for $199.99 after a two-year contract, though Amazon get it to your doorstep for $50 less. Be on the lookout for our review coming soon.
LG Revolution
Next up, we have LG’s Revolution. This device was teased way back since CES and is finally available for purchase. While this certainly isn’t Verizon’s first 4G LTE phone, it was the first one we heard about that got us all hot and bothered for LTE’s imminent arrival to Android phones. Since its announcement, we’ve learned quite a lot about it. Yes, it’ll come with Netflix (which is now available on other devices). And it’ll be Verizon’s first device that supports VoLTE.
As for the specs, it’ll have a 4.3 inch display, Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon chipset, a 5 megapixel shooter, a VGA front camera, 16GB of internal storage and Android 2.2 with LG’s custom user interface. Don’t forget about that 4G LTE radio inside. This one can be had for $250 on a two-year contract at Verizon.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play
Finally, Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Play has finally made its way to the land of opportunity. There’s one big difference between Verizon’s version and the version you can get in Europe, Canada and other places – it runs stock Android, for the most part. There is a bit of customization here and there which make it a Playstation Certified phone, of course.
The biggest spec you folks likely care about is that nice gamepad beneath the phone’s display that turns your device into the “Playstation phone” you’ve always been looking for (along with those all-important shoulder buttons). Other specs include a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset (that was optimized specifically for this phone), a 4 inch display, a 5 megapixel camera with a VGA front camera, an 8GB microSD card, Android 2.3 and more.
Not only will you have access to many Playstation classics, you can also look forward to new games optimized for the Xperia Play’s controls, which include the forthcoming launch of Backbreaker 2 exclusive to the Xperia Play (for the time being, anyway). And don’t forget about emulators that are sure to be supported.
