Tonight I came across something funny while rummaging through the Android Market redownloading some of my favorite apps. It looks like Big In Japan, developers of the popular barcode scanning app, ShopSavvy, are so excited about fixing Thunderbolt compatibility on their app that they’ve officially changed their name to…. get this — “Thunderbolt Fix!.”
Okay, well maybe not officially but it was amusing to see a big developer like this make such a simple human error. I can only imagine how many Android Market users will give the app 1 star because of this typo. “I’ve lost all respect for this app. Don’t they proofread? SMH” I wonder how long it will take for them to notice.
Hey, we’re all human right? Something you should keep in mind even on world famous Android websites like this one. ;)
This is news? Really? Lol. Guess that’s what an associate’s degree will get ya. Kudos.
Your criticism is the equivalent of writing a letter to the editor of the New York Times telling them their Soduko and Crossword puzzles aren’t news and they should stop publishing it.
In depth reviews of phones aren’t technically “news” either but people don’t complain about those – why not? The vast majority of publications – online and offline – are combinations of different types of content. This was meant as a funny, light hearted, topical article. The first 6 words could have told you that… without needing an associate’s degree.
I dont know why people feel the need to come on this site and be douche bags…seriously how unfulfilled must your life really be? Dude…relax…
I didn’t know about it, therefore it’s news to me.
I know this was dumb booo
It’s been like that for weeks and it probably wasn’t a typo more like an advertisement. Pointless article
So how about them padres?
I don’t know what’s up with the comments, but I liked the article and actually laughed. If you didn’t want to read the article then don’t read it.
Lots of developers have started using the second line of the Android market as a subheading. We used to put our company name there – i.e. ShopSavvy, but that seemed like a waste of space since the title of our app is ShopSavvy. Anyway, we use the second line to help users why they should update. If you had a Thunderbolt and tried ShopSavvy it didn’t work until HTC released their OTA fix. Now it works. We wanted to get the word out in an very obvious way. We did this last year with the EVO release as well as our 4.0 update. Take a look at the market and you will see LOTS of apps doing this. Hope this helps.
Of course Phandroid turns the other cheek in this regard…they have to, considering this kinda thing happens here all the time.
…but like Chris said…only human, so it’s understandable in a sense.
LOL, funny article.
Good article Chris, don’t worry about these guys, apparently their asses are so tight only dogs can hear them when they fart.
