Sharp Reveals Autostereoscopic 3D Clamshell Android

Contrary to popular belief, what Sharp has announced today is not the first clamshell Android, but it is definitely the first one that features 3D. Autostereoscopic 3D. It’s the Sharp AQUOS PHONE THE HYBRID 007SH – yea, I’m not too fond of the name, either. But the phone itself is quite cool. If you couldn’t tell from the photo above, the 3.4 inch display not only flips up, but can swivel down to transform into a “traditional” device.

It also has a 16 megapixel camera with HD video recording, a micro-HDMI port, Blu Ray recorder connectivity and a lot more. And if you see that camera lens on the back, you can tell it’s no slouch. This one’s Japan-only for the time being, but we’re still quite interested to see how well it does. It’s been a long time since we’ve used a phone like this, but flip phones then weren’t nearly as cool as this one. Read on for the full spec list.
