Verizon has decided to launch the Motorola DROID X2 a week early for you internet dwellers – you can now grab it up for $199.99 after a two-year contract on Verizon’s site. (Amazon is offering it for $150 if you’re looking to get it a bit cheaper.) No, you aren’t looking at a DROID X, folks. But its 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor inside and qHD display should do enough to set itself apart from the original. And no, there’s no Gingerbread, but are you going to let that stop you from getting Verizon’s most powerful DROID device (and their most powerful device period, really)?
There’s a DROID X2 section waiting for you at AndroidForums.com, too. You can be sure that the community of folks ready to scoop this thing up are convening there to talk about their purchase experience and excitement. And you can bet your pennies they’ll be talking about the having the phone itself once it ships out to them tomorrow morning. For those who want to take a look at the device before buying it, Verizon will have it in-store May 26th.
