The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is now up for pre-order via J&R, signaling that the tablet — the one that was handed out as a limited edition variant at Google I/O — shouldn’t be too far off from release. While the J&R page simply states “Coming Soon,” the slim Honeycomb tablet with Tegra 2 processor looks like it will make the June 8th release date that has been tossed around. You can order your very own for $499 or $599 for the 16GB and 32GB versions respectively.
Also available for pre-order, but with no indication of a release date, are the Samsung Galaxy WiFI 4.0 and 5.0. The media player variant of the Samsung Galaxy S is priced at $220 for the smaller device and $270 for the larger of the two. The Galaxy WiFi lacks some of the specs that made the Galaxy S a hit, but still shows some promise. We are hesitant about calling it anything like an iPod killer. Still, if you’d like one it’s there for the ordering.

That price needs to drop by $100.
Mine doesn’t need to be.
LMAO thanks I needed a good laugh this morning
Agreed. It may be a little slimmer than the transformer, but lacks an SD slot and HDMI port. Needs to be priced on par with the Transformer.
they also need to get rid of the Tegra 2 crap of a cpu. I was getting ready to sell my Transformer and get this. I guess i will have to hold out a little longer until someone puts out a 10.1 tab with a real processor.
is the tegra THAT bad??
Go to best buy and check out youtube video’s on a Xoom (same processor). It’s choppy.
I can’t speak for the Xoom but on the galaxy tab 10.1 special edition from IO it’s smooth. I can watch the hour-long keynotes from IO in “HD” without a hitch.
sadly… yes…
the omission of NEON. is really hurting it..
you cannot watch any type of video without it shuddering.
What is up with no SD card slot?
Yea I would have been good with no SD card for 399. 499? not so much.
That is a picture of a 10.1v! Arg! Stop doing that!
selling a 16GB tablet without an SD card slot should be illegal.
It appears that J&R has retracted the listing and pre-order of the Samsung Galaxy WiFI 4.0 and 5.0 devices. These items no longer appear in J&R’s system.
The Galaxy Tab links to J&R seem to be broken…
