Have an old “Droid” phone laying around? Or perhaps you know someone who wanted to experiment a little bit in college and wound up with an iPhone in their pocket? We all make mistakes. Well, starting today, you and even your OS challenged friend can can trade in those used smartphones (and more) on Amazon and trade-up into the wonderful world of Android.
That’s right, Amazon has just announced that they are starting a new program that allows you to trade in most of your old electronics, mp3 players and smartphones for store credit. Simply box up your old goods, ship them out and Amazon will give you the value in the form of a store credit. They even feature bonus trade-in deals of the day that give you even more credit for your buck.
Ironically, the Nexus One is currently valued at $130 while the iPhone 3GS is valued at $162. Go figure. Time to do a little treasure hunting in that old closet or desk drawer. Now, where did I leave my old Zune…?

wish i could trade in my droid x…
Why would you trade in your X? and for what? If you don’t like your X or you think it’s an inferior product, you’re doing it wrong. My rooted X running the latest gingerbread is over-clocked to 1350 mhz, streams netflix, HBO go, and is the most responsive phone I’ve seen/owned. Battery life is amazing thanks to the under volt ability within the over clock app (i have no problems going ~30 hours with normal usage. Short of 4g (meh) it has and does anything you could ask for. (please don’t say anything about a FFC, that’s the most over rated, apply hyped feature on smart phones)
Damn the iPhone 3GS is 160$ even tho it was realease 6 months before google nexus one , the shows the apple devices have more value at the end, but android OS is getting better so hopefully the helps for other android devices out there
Apple devices seem to age more gracefully than other electronics for some reason.
That’s because the technical capabilities of the Apple phones don’t change as much as Android phones. Compare a Nexus One to a Galaxy S II.
True, I kinda wish that other companies would also adopt the build quality of some Mac units, that seems to have something to do with it too.
Aaand “Droid” isn’t even an option to trade in…
Yeah, I got all excited for nothing
You’ve been bamboozled!
Not a post slips by without some potshot against Apple eh? I’ll be sure to nominate you all at the next upstanding role-model awards.
I like the iPhone.
blah, blah, blah, blah…..lets keep it short and to the point people. All phones have fans…and haters….respect to all.
Much better =)
If you really knew me, you would know that I actually like the iPhone. There’s enough love in my heart for all OS’s believe it or not. I just like Android more.
And they’re just fun, lighthearted jabs. =)
Chocobosandwich….can I eat you please? I’ve always wanted to try chocobo. Are you grilled or breaded?
well that was misleading
