It was only a few days ago I posted a leaked internal document from Qualcomm showing off the raw power of their next generation dual-core Snapdragon processors. In case you’re not the benchmark type and are more interested in getting a real world sense of what all those bar graphs meant, Qualcomm was nice enough to upload some video of their upcoming processors in action.
The first video shows the multimedia playback abilities of rival’s Nvidia’s dual-core Tegra 2 (Cortex 9), vs. the current 2nd generation Snapdragon single-core processors as found in popular handsets like the Mytouch 4G, G2 and Thunderbolt. I should say ahead of time, take any manufacturer’s presentations with a grain of salt as they are usually bias and skewed in favor of their products. Kind of like those commercials you see with Vince the Shamwow guy.
For our second video, Qualcomm wants to make sure you know their next generation dual-core Snapdragons are no slouch in the gaming department (like their first generation ones were). All thanks to their new, beefy Adreno 220 GPU. Oh, and just an FYI, the phone showcased in the video is Qualcomm’s very own developer phone specifically made and designed to show off their new processor’s abilities.
You can find the new Snapdragon MSM8660 dual-core processors in the upcoming HTC Sensation and Evo 3D when they are released this summer. The chipset wars are heating up! You excited yet?
