Due to ongoing issues with Verizon’s 4G LTE network, the Samsung DROID Charge’s launch seems to have been delayed a bit longer than its 3G brethren launching today. Sometime yesterday, users across the nation began reporting 4G LTE outages that left them on 3G speeds. Verizon has since identified the problem and is working to restore service to everyone over the coming days. (Folks are reporting that service is slowly being restored.)
The HTC DROID Incredible 2 and the Casio g’zOne Commando both appeared online for sale at Verizon’s website early this morning, but the Samsung DROID Charge was missing. Earlier rumors mentioned a delay due to the aforementioned issues with 4G and the fact that the phone isn’t yet up on Verizon’s site today makes me believe they may be true.
We’ve reached out to several of our contacts at Verizon to get down to the bottom of this one. Sit tight, folks – you may have to go through the weekend without this one. Or perhaps they’ll get everything fixed in time for some weekend fun with your soon-to-be new toy. If you need something to do other than twiddling your thumbs or pulling your hair out, why not check out our unboxing video. A full review is also on its way. [via Engadget]
