Yesterday it was discovered on Sprint’s “This Just In” page that the HTC EVO View 4G would be launching with Android 3.0 Honeycomb. We were a bit skeptical as Sprint had been mentioning 2.3 with the tablet being “upgradeable to Honeycomb” for quite some time.
It looks like there was just some internal communication error as that line has since been updated with “Latest version of Android” in regards to which operating system it’d launch with. Unfortunately, that still doesn’t give us a clear answer. We’re still banking on Gingerbread to start out with as HTC has put a lot of time and resources into customizing it, but anything can happen at this point. [via Android & Me]
