HTC Thunderbolt Overclocked to a Screaming 1.8GHz Thanks to Kernel Source

If you ever wonder about the direct results of companies such as HTC releasing the source code for their Android devices, look no further. Mere hours after the smartphone manufacturer made the HTC Thunderbolt’s kernel source available the phone was already being overclocked to 1.5GHz and beyond. The highest seen yet? A whopping 1.8GHz giving us some of the most insane Quadrant Benchmark results we have ever seen.

Topping off at 3047, the Thunderbolt puts just about every other phone to shame this go around. Too bad that 1.8GHz coupled with 4G LTE would probably eat your battery alive in a matter of minutes.
