Google’s continuing to make their search engine – and other tools – more social and personal to you by introducing a simple “+1 button”. The premise is very simple: if you find something you like while searching, hit the button and your friends will know that it’s something cool or something that you like and is worth taking a look at if they end up searching for something similar.
Simple enough, right? And yes we know this is only for the desktop version of Google Search for now but we’ll assume Android will be getting some +1 love in the future. (They did it for something as complex and cool as Instant, so why not?) Check out a quick demonstration video above.
This will completely change the internet as we know it. It’s facebook Like for the entire web
Facebook like is also for the entire web, it just means you need a faecbook account. Much like you’ll need a google account for +1
hmm I don’t think this will be as good as I expected. I thought you could +1 on an ad and ‘teach’ google to only give you ads that you are interested in. I want google to give me better results. I don’t need to share ads with my friends…I can easily do that myself.

plus +1 should in the long run give you better results because when enough people click it at a site it shows that site has good content which should push it up the page ranks for relevance.

Search results aren’t really the problem which is why I prefer google.
It’s the ads…I block them because they just don’t offer me anything interesting. If I could +1 ads that appeal to me and -1 those that don’t, I would unblock them.

Doesn’t say how Google knows who my friends are.. Facebook ?, Google contacts ?.. what ?.. It also doesn’t say if when I go to a search, or a site and it has a +1 ..does it say who it is that recommended it ? … The whole “like” thing for me, is like the people who send me emails with their funny jokes.. I can find my own jokes on the net, your jokes are spam.. same with the “likes”, I can use a search engine my own damn self.. so you need to have a good reason to be letting me in on your “tips” or I’ll just ignore them as boring spam links.. It’s one of the reasons I only use Facebook once in a blue moon. (there are many others)
