T-Mobile G2x Officially Announced; Pricing for Sidekick 4G, G-Slate Now Confirmed

T-Mobile left us a nice gift in our inbox this morning letting us know that the T-Mobile G2x is now official and will be headed our way sometime this year. (Earlier rumors have pegged April 20th as the date to look out for but T-Mobile hasn’t given a release window outside of “Spring”.)

Just as we expected, the device will run stock Android 2.2 and does away with LG’s custom UI seen on the international version previously debuted. It still has a 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, an 8-megapixel autofocus with LED flash that can record HD video, a VGA front-facing camera for video calls, and a lot more.

T-Mobile’s also putting 4G radios inside this thing – it’ll actually be their first phone to have the 42mbps HSPA+ radio inside ensuring users can take full advantage of the network whenever T-Mobile begins delivering those speeds. (We’re not sure how long that’ll last, though.) We’ll be out and about to get our hands-on with this thing.

In other news, both the Sidekick 4G and the LG G-Slate have been priced. The former will be available for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a two-year contract while the latter will be $529.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a two-year deal. These still haven’t gotten new release windows outside of “Spring”, but keep an eye out on April 20th for that G-Slate too. Read on for full press details.
