Earlier this month at Mobile World Congress Samsung introduced the second member of the Galaxy Tab family, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (shown above). Now rumors are suggesting it won’t be the only new Galaxy Tab we see this year, suggesting an 8.9-inch model is already in the works and could be announced as soon as next month.
It makes some sense. Considering Samsung didn’t call the 10.1-inch model the Galaxy Tab II, it leaves room for a Galaxy Tab 8.9. We would guess the tablet would run Honeycomb and carry many of the same features (such as dual-core processing) as the 10.1-inch version. Next month lines up with the CTIA show in Orlando, so it is definitely possible. Samsung seems committed to coating the market with every imaginable size device on as many carriers as possible, so we wouldn’t be surprised if this rumor turns true.
