MLB.com At Bat 2011 to Feature Live Game Video Streaming

Even though we find ourselves still in the cold grips of winter, spring is in the air. Well, spring training, anyway. In the following weeks players throughout the MLB will begin making their way to the warmer climates of Arizona and Florida to embark on the 2011 season. While those on the field have had a busy off-season polishing up their skills, MLB.com has been busy at work on the Android app. This season subscriber’s to MLB.com At Bat will be able to stream live game video right to their Android smartphone.

Purchasing and MLB.tv license for either $99.99 or $119.99 gives you access to live game streams on your computer and other internet connected devices, and with the additional purchase of the MLB.com At Bat app those streams are extended to your handset. That app cost $14.99 last season (the price has since dropped to free). I might not drop that kind of money to keep tabs on my beloved Baltimore Orioles, but for fans of last year’s champion San Francisco Giants or clubs like the Red Sox and Yankees, it might just be worth it.
