HTC Invests in Multimedia Content Delivery Developer Saffron

HTC today announced that they have invested in Saffron – a firm who develops a multimedia content delivery system. (Think iTunes.) The move is no doubt strategic and sets up the obvious story of HTC wanting to get into the media store game.

What exact route they choose remains to be seen, but they join the company of LG, Nokia, Paramount, Sony, Samsung, and more of OEMs who use their service one way or another.

HTC’s relatively-new HTCSense.com -something they’re beginning to integrate into all of their latest phones – would more than likely take on a new identity and a digital music store would add a fresh angle for HTC to use as an advertising point. [Electronista]
