The folks who created Craigslist Craigsnotifica – the popular Android app for Craigslists buffs which was removed from the market yesterday – have updated us to let us know that the application has now been restored to the Android market. Google originally accused them of breaking the Android market ToS, but it appears Google may have misjudged and have since restored the application. The world will no longer be ending, folks. If you already had it installed – great! If you don’t, I suggest you go and do that: this app rocks.
Yes!
This is my favorite app; hands down. I am still wondering why this happened. My thoughts range from conspiricy to just plain stupidity by the app developer. Any thoughts?
All I know is that my RSS feed for Explorer 8 no longer works and that this is all I have left to feed me info on the items I am looking for from craigslist (BBQ smokers, golf equipment and camping stoves). If this app goes away, I am limited to once-a-day craigslist checks through manual searches. I don’t want to do that.
My guess is that Craigslist wants this app killed because it allows users to sort and compile multiple CL markets into one output screen through the “all” option. For whatever reason, CL doesn’t like these types of spidering inquiries that allow users to search nationwide. CL stresses “buy locally” a lot, and has shut down any number of popular web-based sites that allowed users to search for items across the country. I’m sure these kinds of apps put a heavier load on their servers and bandwidth, and I won’t be surprised if the developer has further issues with CL because of this.
thats great
Awesome!
i’m the developer! thank you for the update! hope to work and make this app a lot better.
