It hasn’t been talked about since September, but it looks like INQ is indeed still working on an Android phone with deep Facebook integration, according to recently uncovered BlueTooth SIG filings. The phone, while reportedly getting a lot of development help from the Facebook team, most likely won’t launch as the Facebook phone –t here may never never be one of those. It is listed instead as the INQ Cloud Touch. Here is the description:
“An Android smartphone built to make messaging faster and smarter. It’s designed around the way people naturally communicate and has Facebook built into its core. The homescreen features multiple entry points to different Facebook functions, while a dynamic widget displays a feed of status updates, albums, videos and photos.”
The filing dates from 12/17/2010, so development seems to be ongoing though no idea of a release time frame can be pinpointed. We’d imagine this phone would end up receiving a “with Facebook” tag similar to the “with Google” tag found on many Android handsets.
