ASUS expressed plans to utilize Android for future devices, and today they’ve unveiled one of them: the Eee Pad MeMo. It’s a 7-inch slate that runs Android and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The device was flashed briefly as they wanted to rush it off of the stage to make way for their Windows 7 tablet, but we did get a demo of the device’s drawing capabilities. ASUS’ Jonney Shih showed off his fantastic drawing skills on stage, and that was the end of that.
He was using a stylus, so naturally we assume the touchscreen is resistive, but that’s all we could muster up for now. We’ll be looking out for this thing on the CES show floor in a couple of days and will try to get some hands on time with it. In the meantime, we’ll be keeping our eye out for a formal press release and an accompanying set of images.
