Android Devices Top Wirefly’s Holiday Sales

While perhaps no single item ran away with the title of must-have gift, it is clear that the 2010 holiday shopping season was all about mobile. Whether we’re talking smartphones or tablets, limitless sales and enough advertising were diverted to making the devices top choice. And when we’re talking smartphones, we’re talking Android as well. If Wirefly’s sales data is any indication, Google’s OS did quite well.

Among the top 10 sellers from the online retailer, only one was not running on Android. Take a wild guess at which one device that might be (here is a hint: Steve Jobs has one). Even aging devices like the HTC EVO 4G and Droid Incredible managed to ring in the new year as some of the holiday season’s hottest items. CEO of Simplexity and Wirefly Andy Zeinfeld points out that the advancements in smartphone technology coupled with the gradually decreasing prices of such hardware played a large role in their success as top purchases.
