We keep thinking all hope is lost for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 — well, actually, most hope was lost at launch — but the company keeps giving us reason to think things will get better. Initially we were told that Android 2.1 would be a terminal update for the X10. Then we learned a future update may add in some multi-touch capabilities. Now, if we are to believe an email correspondence with a Turkish customer support representative, Android 2.2 for the X10 could be dropping in Q2 2011.
We’ll take it with a grain of salt for now. Especially considering I can’t read Turkish. But the phrase Android 2.2 is indistinguishable, but we don’t see any mention of the characters ‘X’ or ’10.’

This poor phone is the one phone I that I feel more sorry for than my fellow Galaxy S users.
At least Sony Ericcson succeeded in being suckier in software support than Samsung!
Now that is saying something!!
That’s really fucked up. Just glad I returned my X10 cause by then HONEYCOMB 3.0 will be out.
So, in other words, Sony will ship Froyo a year after it was released. In other words, there’s every reason a customer should avoid this company’s Android products. This is just laughable.
It is funny that there is so much negativity around this phone X10. The UI is actually very beautiful. With Eclair the phone is actually newish. There are some added functionality that makes me love my phone over again. And the battery life is so much better. I was about To sell the phone as I also own a Samsung Galaxy S. For the moment I am keeping both phones. They have got each of them different personalities.

I’m terribly disappointed both with AT&T (huge surprise, I know) and SE for really dropping the ball on the X3.
