MetroPCS’s CEO Roger Linquist – at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference today – has just announced plans to launch new LTE smartphones throughout the first half of 2011, and he reassured everyone that at least one of those phones would be Android-enabled (and that specific offering would more than likely be outed in Q1). They’ll also introduce VoLTE – or voice-over-LTE – allowing folks to make their calls over Metro’s high-speed data network for more crisp and clear calls. We’ll pass any additional information along as soon as we can get it. [via Fierce Wireless]
