Coby Has an Android Tablet, But Who Doesn’t?
Coby – manufacturers of a decent line of consumer electronics products (and whose logo looks like Sony’s, and whose name happens to sound like Sony’s) – has an Android tablet! Yay for bandwagoning! For $250, you can get a 7-inch WVGA device with an 800MHz processor, 4GB of internal storage with the option to expand using an SD card, an HDMI-out port and USB connectivity. We imagine WiFi and Bluetooth will also help with any of your connectivity needs. But That’s pretty much it: a run of the mill tablet without Android market and that probably won’t see Android 2.3 or 3.0. In addition, the COBY KYROS Tablet offers two unique apps, Aldiko E-book for downloading and reading thousands of e-books, and AppsLib for browsing, downloading and installing apps.
The Aldiko E-book app enables users to download and read a wide assortment of books, from free classics to original new releases. Bookmark and search functions let consumers customize the font, size and spacing of the book’s text. Through AppsLib, consumers can download free and paid apps to play games, check the weather, listen to the radio and more. Among the available app categories are games, multimedia, sports, social, productivity, health and finance. Technical features of the COBY KYROS Tablet MID7015 include a Telechips TTC8902 processor that operates at 800MHz and offers 256MB DDR2 of RAM.
