[Update: Faked]Honeycomb Makes Appearance in Performance Testing Results
If you didn’t believe the mounds of evidence before suggesting Honeycomb was already making its rounds on a number of testing devices, then I don’t know what to say. The amount of evidence is staggering and there’s no reason to believe it isn’t currently being baked up (especially since we’ve heard there are different teams working on Honeycomb and Gingerbread.)
Even more evidence has made its way to the table today as the Nexus One running Android 3.0 was recently used to test Adobe AIR’s performance, alongside two other Nexus One devices. We’re not sure if it’s possible to fool the benchmark tool into thinking it’s running a version of Android that it actually isn’t, but there wouldn’t be any point: it’s foolish to still suggest Honeycomb isn’t in the works, period.
And here we are still waiting for Gingerbread (while a lot of you are still waiting for Froyo… and Eclair… hell, even Donut.) Ah well. [via MobileCrunch]
[Update]: We should’ve known better (and we totally left in the possibility that this was still fake), but the culprit (who is more of a friend who was trying confirm or deny his original story) chimed in with us to inform us that this means absolutely nothing. Adobe’s benchmark program for AIR does pull its device information from the build.prop file, which we all know is easily editable.
Yet, we’re still going to say we know and believe Honeycomb is out there, fake build files or not. Carry on with your day! [frAndroid]
